Four different modes of operation

Express mode allows parents to simply scan the barcodes on key-tags (one for each child) and the child's name badge and check-in receipt print out immediately. This mode is extremely quick and simple, because the only equipment visible at the check-in station is the scanner and the printer. In this mode, check-in can be performed without any assistance from attendants.

Fingerprint scanning mode operates much like the express mode. Parents simply scan either their fingerprint or their child's in order to check-in. The name badge and receipt print out automatically. This method is convenient and secure.

Touch-screen mode allows parents to scan a barcode, or lookup their family using the touch-screen. Lookups can be done by last name, or the last four digits of their phone number. Once the family is displayed on the screen, parents simply select the children to be checked-in. Name badges and check-in receipts are printed for those children. If scanning, only one barcode is needed for the whole family. This mode can be run un-assisted as well.

Attendant mode allows a volunteer attendant to help with the check-in process. Scanning is optional since the attendant can just ask the parents for their name or phone number to look them up, and select which children are checking in. This mode is typically setup with a screen, keyboard and mouse. If scanning, only one barcode is needed for the whole family.

What other churches are saying...

"My kids man the stations.... Your system is easy enough for my 10 year olds to manage. I love keeping them involved directly in the ministry."

Name badges

Different name badges can be created for each type of service or event.

Name badges can be completely customized to show the information important to your church:

Name
Ministry logo
Security / Call number
Special conditions or instructions
Room assignments based on age or grade
Service, date and time

Key-tags or cards

One of the fastest methods of check-in uses barcodes printed on key-tags or credit cards. In express mode, parents will have a barcode for each child. These barcodes can either be printed onto labels by the Excellerate system, or you can take barcodes that have already been printed on a card and simply assign them to a child, making it easy to issue new ones yourself.

Fingerprint Scanning

Fingerprint scanning offers many of the benefits of express mode, and there are no tags to keep up with. Churches who value security will also find this a good option, since you can use the parent's prints and only they can check their child in.

Touch-screens

In touch-screen mode, parents can easily check in their children by searching by name, or the last four digits of their phone number.

Remote facilities

For churches that hold services in remote facilities away from the office network, Excellerate check-in system can be run "offline." This allows you to run the check-in system un-connected to a network. Attendance can be stored on a portable USB drive, and synchronized with the main Excellerate database back in the office at a later time.

Track volunteer and event attendance

Volunteers or event attendees can check-in as they arrive, and optionally receive a name badge. Attendance is automatically recorded in Excellerate.

Track visitors

When a visitor arrives who isn't in the system, an attendant enters them into the database directly from the check-in station. Simply hit the "visitor" button and a form will pop up to collect all the data for their record. This makes it easier to track how many visitors you had, who they were, and gives you the ability to assign members to follow up with them. If you choose not to have an attendant, or if one is not available, the form is simple enough that visitors can enter themselves.
